BMR Morning Market Musings…

Gold has traded between $1,052 and $1,070 so far today, hitting its lowest level since February 2010…keep in mind, though, that trading conditions are thin because of U.S. Thanksgiving (many investors are on the sidelines today, and most U.S. markets are open for just half the day)…as of 9:30 am Pacific, bullion is down $15 an ounce at $1,057…Silver has plunged 21 cents to $14.06…Copper is off 3 pennies at $2.08…Crude Oil is more than $1 a barrel lower at $41.93 while the U.S. Dollar Index has jumped one-fifth of a point to 100.04 as it threatens to mount a challenge of its March high…

If you’re a contrarian, you have to love the headline on the CNBC website this morning:  Gold Slips To Near 6-Year Low, Set For 6th Straight Weekly Drop.”

The probability of the Federal Reserve increasing interest rates for the first time since 2006 rose to 74% this morning from 72% yesterday, according to Fed-fund futures data…the Fed meets December 15-16

The Venture continues to shrug off the weakness in Gold and commodities in general, showing continued very strong support above its August low…the significant out-performance of the Venture vs. commodities since mid-October is noteworthy and suggests the beaten-down commodity sector may surprise investors to the upside in the not-too-distant future – ironically, perhaps after the Fed finally moves on rates…

Inventory overhangs are still haunting the Oil markets, however…earlier this week, the U.S. Energy Department said Crude stockpiles ticked up by 1 million barrels last week, bringing the total tally to 488.2 million barrels, around a level not seen in the last 8 decades…U.S. Oil output has also held stable, around 9.2 million barrels a day, down marginally from a peak of 9.6 million barrels a day in April…however, the 4-week average daily production is still 144,000 barrels above the same period last year despite the fact there are now 54% fewer rigs in the U.S. from a peak of 1,609 in October 2014

In today’s Morning Musings

1.  Some “Black Friday” bargains among juniors including an immediate signal to pounce on…

2.  CRB Index continues to “bounce along the bottom”…

3.  Canopy Growth (CGC, TSX-V) breaks out above Fib. resistance…

  1. Jon, with all due respect to BMR and the research you guys put into your calls, I take issue with the timeliness and peice meal approach you guys take to revealing interviews.

Your latest interview with Regoci was days ago yet bmr members have only been given two short snippets. Why not post everything you intend at once and for that matter why not post the interview you’ve recorded in it’s entirety?

I understand you are running a business and the need for continued material but I’d much rather listen to everything your interviewees have to say at once and as soon after it’s recieved so I can act on it if I so choose. Your interpretation is critical of course and appreciated but the peice meal way in which it’s now doled out seems less about giving your members actionable information than it does holding back material for later posts.

Again, I respect BMR and the research which I gladly pay for but I’m not a fan of waiting on information when the timeliness of receiving it is crucial with respect to betting on speculative plays.

    Sincerely … Treb

  2. Jo, weren’t you going to release the rest of the Regoci interview today? At least that was what you said earlier this week.

  5. Equitas Grants Stock Options (website – Nov. 27, 2015)
Well, what’s everyone’s opinion? Why grant 2 million options at 15 cents now? I think it means something positive is about to happen.

  7. Dan1, there is so much material we’re sorting thru, and some important family matters that were more time consuming than expected, we haven’t been able to complete that yet. But no worries…it’s coming together. Appreciate your patience.

  8. Dan, it definitely means that something positive is about to happen as companies often do this ahead of good news. Assays coming out next week!!

  9. GGI is well advance in hole 5 by now, also notice DBV website down. They are probably working on something new 🙂

    Comment by Martin — November 27, 2015 @ 5:24 pm

  10. Disregard me bringing out a new one over the weekend. Did some DD and I don’t think it will be a good one for the bmr board.

    Comment by dave — November 27, 2015 @ 5:55 pm

  11. DBV – now: strong support is .08 and .09, strong resistance is at .12, she broke below the 30% up trendline. The CCI has done a “M” formation and the CMF has gone into the brown. That was a tough hit today, but nothing is forever.

    Comment by dave — November 27, 2015 @ 6:01 pm

  12. Well I think EQT is putting their options in place before announcing any positive news. Obviously they are anticipating a move up from these levels. News soon by the sounds of it.

    Comment by Jamie — November 27, 2015 @ 6:36 pm

  13. It’s common for companies to issue options…not necessarily a good or bad sign. They have an expiry of 5 years…if it was a one year expiry I would be more excited. Personally I would prefer a company not to issue options unless they are not getting a salary…or if it was performance based.

  14. I am not crazy about the nuclear space (just yet), but DML just made a double bottom within a half penny with Bolinger Band confirmation. Might be good for a quick trade to the mid .60 area. There is a risk yet to the downside however as tax loss season is upon us.

China and Russia have made agreements to build new reactors in Argentina and Egypt, respectively. China National Nuclear Corp. signed a commercial contract to build Argentina’s fourth and possibly fifth nuclear power plants, which are valued at approximately US$15 billion. China is expected to contribute 85 percent of the project financing.

A few sellers are looking to place material, but are not very willing to reduce prices in order to conclude business. The majority of buyers have covered their needs for 2015, and into early 2016, and are not highly motivated.

    Comment by DBReese — November 27, 2015 @ 10:19 pm

  15. Yes Martin, GGI could have news on hole 5 and also assay results from hole1 and maybe even hole 2. If we get news on hole 5, maybe they will tell us the location of hole 6.

Mexico news will come after assay results is my guess.

  17. Thanks Jon, family first for sure. I know you guys at BMR are hard working and spend a lot of time researching, talking to geo consultants, interviews, etc and it is greatly appreciated.
I have one request/suggestion. Is it possible to put out your Sunday Sizzler a little earlier for us subscribers on the east coast? I know you guys at BMR are early risers given you are on the west coast and the markets open early there so Sunday would be your only day to catch up on your sleep – haha
Do you know how many times I refresh my screen Sunday night? – LOL

    Thanks

  18. Imagine if something big (unusual)come out of hole 5 Tom! Than it’s a even more relax an enjoy type of situation.

    Comment by Sylvain — November 28, 2015 @ 8:23 am

  19. Dan1, I appreciate your point with regard to timing of the Sunday Report. We do take time zone differences in account and try to do our best to get that out by mid-afternoon at latest, Pacific time. Sometimes things just unexpectedly get in the way, as they did last Sunday, but we’ll do our best for an earlier posting tomorrow.

  20. Look at the core and the gold grade nb compare to GGI core, at Oban mining winfall porphyry project (Oban Mining website)…

  21. Sylvian, I wonder if hole 5 is a step out hole to the East i.e. opposite direction to hole 4. I’m sure we will get news this week.

    Comment by Tom UK — November 28, 2015 @ 8:57 am

  22. Tom the step out hole 5 is SW of hole 4, close to the heat engine. My guess is it’s half way betwwen hole 4 and AL9 showing.

  23. Martin, how do you know where hole 5 is located?

    Comment by Dan1 — November 28, 2015 @ 11:24 am

  24. Regoci stated they would run south-west along the kaketsa, now from the 31145.pdf http://aris.empr.gov.bc.ca/ArisReports/31145.PDF, the mag survey page 62, this seems to be a logical area, as there is simiral mags anomalies than area1. Pyrite and magnetite could run there as well at depht all the way back from hole 4. Non geologist opinion, There is also a pluton to the South of the property. Water drainage on Google maps give insight as well. Plus they haven’t carry mag furder to the SW

  25. Jon, are you planning on doing a review on WRR now that they start their drilling program this coming Tues Dec 1st?

    Thanks

    Comment by Jeff — November 28, 2015 @ 2:50 pm

  26. You bring up some good points, Martin, and in the case of a fertile pluton like Kaketsa, it would make sense that the system would be trending toward it, or along the margins of it….may nudge right up against it, which demonstrates the huge volume potential here…so drilling further to the west and southwest of holes 1 and 2, and 4, certainly is the logical way to proceed. At this point they don’t where the system begins, however – so some holes to the east might be a good idea as well, before infill drilling and stepping out further toward Kaketsa. The pluton in the south is intriguing but nobody knows yet how it impacts the area.

    Comment by Jon - BMR — November 28, 2015 @ 2:58 pm

  27. Yes, Jeff, they’ve announced that drilling is starting Dec. 1….on confirmation that’s the case, we’re eager to report on this more as they have a very good chance of a high-grade hit in the first few holes given the known structures. It will get more challenging after the initial several holes, but success right off the bat would help tremendously.

  30. Let’s hope that’s the case, Guy. This time it probably is, though Michel has not proven to be very accurate on his timelines since February.
