  1. Community – we all owe this to ourselves to follow what Trump does… He has already said the dollar is too high… also he has already signed an order to officially peg China as a currency manipulator. Chine is selling treasuries … and has been…
so why would Trump spout off about it???? not sure..
    but ….

Jon – if we had a section to document ‘trump sightings’ and list them as we all come across them may provide a road map to our future re gold and stocks..

He signed an order removing a .5% fee reduction for low and middle income earners… wasnt he supposed to help them?? seems that this move is against them… so an FHA mortgage is more expensive now… hmmmm….

just thinking out loud on a Sat eve…

  2. Jeremy
Obama had signed an order to reduce the FHA mortgage insurance premium on his way out the door with no explanation at all FHA borrowers only have to put 3.5 % down payment that premium is there to insure FHA in the event of s loss and believe me a lot of FHA buyers walk away because they have no skin in the game Obama knows this and he also knows that the FHA as recently as 2013 needed a bail out because of all the bad loans Obama knows that FHA can’t operate on the thin margins and he knows Trump would have to reverse what he did and now it makes Trump look bad
Just another one of his underhanded political games to try and undermine Trump
    Glad he is finally gone!

  5. I think there is little doubt Trump does not want a strong US dollar, he definitely understands trade. It should be good for gold but I have been around long enough to know that what should happen doesn’t always happen.

I very much look forward to your interviews with Goldie/Makela. It should be an interesting week.

  7. What’s next, Jeremy?…more sensationalism and erroneous reporting (distorted news with a strong anti-Trump slant) from CNN…they’re getting worse than the National Enquirer…yet another great example today, one that Canadians can relate to, in an online CNN story that referred to Trump’s inaugural address, with CNN stating, “The tenor and content of the speech left some diplomats ‘depressed’…and sparked an emergency meeting in Canada, one of the largest U.S. trading partners.”

Wrong, but that’s CNN inventing something again…first, the so-called “emergency meeting” is no “emergency” meeting at all—-it’s a 3-day previously scheduled Liberal Cabinet retreat in Calgary…secondly, someone should let CNN know that Canada is not just one of the largest trading partners of the U.S. but is in fact the largest single trading partner…

  8. Jon, if you read the article a bit further it says “Canada is the US’ second-largest trading partner after China, with more than 70% of Canadian exports going to the US.” I also thought it was always Canada and it was until recently. I did some research. Here is the total I cam up with (total of imports and exports).

    1. China 527,580 (in millions of US dollars) 2. Canada 501,275 3 Mexico 482,496 as of November 2016

No wonder Trump doesn’t want the US dollar to be so strong, competing against these weaker currencies.

Here is the link I used.

  9. Well Jon .. having watched CNN for the last hour and everyone harping on tax returns, as well as how many attended the inaguration etc tells me that anything trivial will be attacked and will try and paint trump with a very broad and bad brush.

I still remember John King on election nite giving everyone hope that Hilary could still pull it out.. bad reporting.. and I guess it is still happening!!
    and will continue…

oh my what have they done?????? we are only 2 days into 4 years?? this is entertainment at its best!

  10. China has certainly been moving up the ladder, Danny, in trade with the U.S. but that table includes goods only…not goods and services…in goods and services, the Canada-U.S. trade relationship remains the biggest one in the world…

    Comment by Jon - BMR — January 22, 2017 @ 4:18 pm

  11. Jon, I guess what I found interesting was how high Mexico was. No other country is even close to the top 3. Canada, China and Mexico dwarf the rest of the world when it comes to trading volume with the US. It will be interesting to see how protectionist Trump will be. From a Canadian point of view it’s way too early to tell if Trump will be good or bad for Canada.

  12. No Jon, someone should not tell cnn, someone should tell fox, then let them show how cnn is creating fake news, of course, trump has already told them that.. The ultimate reality show has just begun!!

    Comment by Laddy — January 22, 2017 @ 5:29 pm

  13. Yes, Laddy, good idea…I think I’ll fire off an email to Sean Hannity…

    Comment by Jon - BMR — January 22, 2017 @ 6:16 pm

  14. Jon, I think Sean Hannity is way ahead of you on this, he is without doubt Donald Trump’s biggest cheerleader. CBC and CTV seem so tame compared to FOX and CNN.

    Comment by Danny — January 22, 2017 @ 7:03 pm

  15. That would be the guy, hannity would love that…

    Comment by Laddy — January 22, 2017 @ 7:13 pm

  16. Jon

it is amazing how CNN and others including the print media are saying the inauguration speech was depressing, I watched every minute of it and it was anything but depressing… I don’t think that the Trump camp is going to put up with anymore of this fake news crap, the liberal press is finally going to be exposed… only problem is the general public has been lied to and the real truth covered up so much for the last 8 yrs that it will be hard for the general public in the beginning to know who is telling the truth…. this is going to be a very entertaining 8 yrs… won’t want to the white house press conferences for sure, lol
