The Venture Week In Review And A Look Ahead

TSX Venture Exchange and Gold

What a week it was.

The S&P 500 fell for the 9th consecutive trading session Friday, the first time that has occurred in 36 years.  Crude Oil tumbled nearly 10% while Gold shot back up above $1,300 an ounce.  Chicago Cubs came from behind 3-games-to-1 to capture their first World Series title in 108 years.  And Donald Trump has moved into a statistical tie with Hillary Clinton in the opinion polls with an historic U.S. election just 3 days away.

The world could easily change dramatically on Tuesday.  The odds of that happening are far greater than establishment forces, including the mainstream media, care to admit, so how may that impact the Venture and precious metal prices?

  1. November is a month that always tests your patience when you play the juniors but it’s the best month to accumulate while tax loss selling goes on. I have never had a bad December playing the juniors.

  2. That’s right, Danny, opportunity knocks…the surge we get by year-end could be remarkable, which makes the rest of November such a key part of the year.

  3. Hey Jon…what do you think of the chances Northern Dynasty Minerals has of actually mining their deposit? It’s amazing the size of that deposit.

Can’t see a Trump win being beneficial to Canada – hope he builds his wall out of softwood lumber.

  5. Keep in mind that Keystone XL, Mmurphy, which is critical to Canada’s ability to push Crude to market, would all of a sudden have the full 100% support of the U.S. government under a Trump administration. Then the ball is in Trudeau’s court. Zero support from Obama on Keystone or softwood lumber for that matter. Last deal on lumber was done with the Republicans.

  6. Another wild election twist this afternoon: (Fox News): FBI Director James Comey says the agency has reviewed all of the Hillary Clinton emails recently discovered in an unrelated case and that his conclusion in July not to prosecute Clinton after the FBI’s original investigation into her use of private email server still stands.

  7. This could be big.

    Mr. Ray Paquette reports

CANADIAN ZEOLITE TARGETS MEDICAL MARIJUANA INDUSTRY

Canadian Zeolite Corp. will begin shipping its natural zeolite to several medical marijuana growers in Canada and the United States. Currently, the Canadian Zeolite team is proceeding with developing zeoponics and zeoponic substrates specifically for use in the growing of medical marijuana. Zeoponics allows the plant to absorb the nutrients as it needs them, which improves the plant quality, produces higher yields and shortens production cycles. In addition, natural zeolite aids in control of mould and moisture issues in standard plant-growing operations.

Natural zeolite has emerged as having considerable potential in a wide variety of agricultural processes. The unique ion-exchange, dehydration/rehydration and absorption properties of zeolite materials promise to contribute significantly to agriculture and aquaculture technology. Zeolites are fast becoming the subject of serious investigation in dozens of agricultural laboratories both here and abroad. Zeolites have been proven to contribute to more efficient crops, plant health, significant yield and agricultural productivity.

Ray Paquette, chief executive officer, states, “With the explosive growth of the medical marijuana industry, Canadian Zeolite is well positioned to become a leading supplier of natural zeolite to this expanding market, as well as becoming an innovator of new products to complement the growing process.”

  9. this about sum’s up Trump’s “promises”

“He is so wrong, it is hard to even respond to his arguments, because a lot of it is just fantasy. How do you make a reasonable argument as a response to something completely fantasy?”

  10. GEC: The Company closed the acquisition (the “Transaction”) of Valens Agritech Ltd. (“Valens”)
effectively Oct 31, 2016, but legally on Nov 2, successfully completing the proposed business
combination as outlined in the binding Letter of Commitment signed Mar 30, 2016, first announced
on Dec 11, 2015 as a letter of intent.
During the past two years, Valens has spent over $2.7 million customizing a 17,000 sq. ft. facility to
bring it to a (Health Canada) Level 10 security building requirements for the storage of controlled
substances and cultivation of cannabis. All equipment and systems necessary to operate the
facility are currently in place and ready to start production. The company is currently hiring
    personnel for commencement of operations.
Of the seven application stages for a Dealer’s License with Health Canada’s Office of Controlled
Substances, Controlled Substances Directorate, Valens is presently at stage six, first in queue for
final inspection in western Canada. Stage seven is the issuance of a license itself. This will be
followed by an LP (License to Produce) fast-tracked application as an add-on to provide medicinal
and eventually recreational-use products under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes
    Regulations (ACMPR).
The purpose of the buildout and licensing is to develop new strains of plant material to effectively
extract various forms of Cannabidiol (CBD). The CBD will then be used in clinical trials to treat
several different forms of epilepsy and other neurological disorders. Valens intends to commence
clinical trials following receipt of Health Canada approval.
One key business goal of Valens is to ultimately develop materials and obtain a Drug Index
Number (DIN), and thereby enter the pharmacology registry for prescribing our material. This
process can only be done through extensive clinical trials.
