Gold producer picks (up 36.6% in less than 3 months) continue to be the leaders in the BMR Top 50 Opportunities (#1) that was unveiled December 4. Seven of the 8 selections in that category have jumped in value with Richmont Mines (RIC, TSX) leading the way with a robust gain of 55.9%. Richmont will be reporting its Q4 and 2015 financials pre-market tomorrow morning. Claude Resources (CRJ, TSX) closely follows RIC with a gain of 54.5%.
Kirkland Lake Gold (KGI, TSX), Detour Gold (DGC, TSX) and Klondex Mines (KDX, TSX) have also been stellar performers in the producer category, climbing 47.4%, 45.1% and 30.8%, respectively.
In today’s report is a performance review of each category. Combined, the 50 picks (39 resource and 11 non-resource) have returned a robust 21.6% since December 4 (that projects to an annual return greater than 85%,). This is particularly encouraging considering the weak performance of equity markets during that time. The NASDAQ has fallen 12.4%, the Dow is off 8.2% and the TSX has lost 1%. The Venture has bucked the trend with a gain of 2.7%.
1. The Gold explorer with a 140% gain since early December on high volume…
2. Trend shows Gold juniors are beginning to pick up the pace…
3. The Lithium sector remains hot…
4. Certain non-resource plays that could surge during this 1st half of 2016…
In total, 30 of the 50 picks have increased in value since the 4th of December, 17 are down (12 of those by less than 10%) and 3 are unchanged. The average return so far is 21.6%. We’ll be issuing an updated Top 50 Opportunities List (#2) in the near future.

EQT – yes, very oversold. It should move soon.

Dave regarding EQT. Are you basing it on TA or fundamentals? Thanks

EQT wont move until the next drilling is made public and the gold venture is better understood..:) just my 2 cents:)

John/Jon … nice review… thx

Jon, when do you expect GGI to start drilling at their Rambo target? Again they did not give specific time on when drilling would start. That is the issue I have with their NR’s. Gearing up to drill. That could mean this week or 6 weeks down the road.

Dan1, I anticipate they’ll have that rig turning at Rambo very quickly, they’re preparing the site now. I’d like to think they’ll be able to put out first core pictures during the first week of March. In response to George’s comment, Regoci knows he has to pick up the pace on multiple fronts. He has the ability to do so now – they obviously got bogged down with Grizzly drill results and interpreting what they have there – so I believe we’re going to see a nice finish to the month.

That would be nice if core pics could be posted by the first week of March. Of course it would have to be a hit before they post core pics.

Dan1, there won’t be any doubt what they’re drilling into at Rambo. It is a high grade gold target as described in that Mines Handbook, and on the same structure as Progreso right below it. I’ll put my faith in Ray Oripuagh that he’ll hit a sweet spot – this is the same geo who found the Don Ese deposit at exactly the depth he predicted.

Dan1 – Fundementals for EQT soon

Thanks Dave. Hope they start producing and get back to drilling at the Garland. That would provide a spark.

Dan1 – It’s not the Garland. Well, that is coming up, but there is something else that is going to get the markets attention. We should move past .10 shortly.

EQT – if the excitement is coming from Brazil, I’m gonna guess that’s a while still. The exchange drags it heels on deals like this where there is potential to make cash from mining, but its not 43101’d yet. I expect news on Brazil mid March based on the NR describing the deal back in Jan2016.
