Another spectacular new drill result from New Found Gold (NFG, TSX-V) – the best yet from the super high-grade Keats Zone – is the latest spark to further ignite the Newfoundland Gold Rush.
Drill hole NFGC-21–182 returned an incredible 146.2 g/t Au over 25.6 m within a broader core interval of 35.4 m grading 106.2 g/t Au (285 m to 321.25 m, true width estimated at 60% to 80%).
- NFGC-21–182 was a 65 m down-plunge step-out to the south from the previously farthest south high-grade intercept (hole NFGC-21–143, 63.7 g/t Au over 8.4 m and 16.9 g/t Au over 2.5 m as per April 27, 2021 NR) and is the deepest assay interval returned to date at Keats;
- The high-grade zone at Keats has now been drill defined over 425 m in the down-plunge direction. The zone remains open and step-out drilling is continuing to the south, vertically above and below this zone, and to the north.
Thanks to a fresh compilation of historical data (great work by the Newfoundland Geological Survey), new approaches to prospecting (Shawn Ryan’s involvement has been a game changer), and a bullish reinterpretation of the island’s potential for hosting Gold along major structural trends, it appears we’re about to witness 1 of the great Canadian area plays in recent memory driven by NFG’s stunning discovery and the delineation of Marathon Gold’s (MOZ, TSX) multi-million ounce resource at its Valentine Lake Project. More than 2 dozen juniors are currently active in the Central Newfoundland Gold Belt, and billionaire investor Eric Sprott has recently doubled down on the region with an increasing number of financings among multiple companies.
In an exclusive interview with BMR over this holiday weekend in Canada, Ryan – the country’s most famous prospector who was a “first mover” in Newfoundland more than 5 years ago – predicted a multi-year run for this Gold Rush. “This is a structural story, and so much prospective ground hasn’t even been looked at. People are going to be surprised by the number of discoveries.”

We’ll have much more with Shawn Ryan in the coming days!
The ramping up of the Newfoundland Gold Rush comes at a time of unprecedented global liquidity and a reversal to the upside in Gold after Bitcoin overshadowed the yellow metal for several months through the end of Q1.
To appreciate the scale of the opportunity in Newfoundland, think back to the Eskay Creek discovery in 1989 and all that has been found in that district since then. There are now a staggering 186 million ounces of Gold, 958 million ounces of Silver, 52.2 billion pounds of Copper, and 1 billion pounds of Molybdenum in current NI-43-101 resources (all categories) in the Eskay Camp, with many more discoveries unfolding and yet to come.
They are literally just scratching the surface in Newfoundland, and when another company or 2 hits watch out – this Gold Rush could turn into the junior resource sector’s version of the Crypto Craze.

SASY has a lot of room to run, CrazyC, given their Newfoundland dynamic + Eskay Camp. SASY is Shawn Ryan’s new thoroughbred along with LAB.

It’s still 90 mins from open, CrazyC, but I’d love to see a lower open than yesterday’s OTCQB close.
