BMR Morning Market Musings…

Gold has traded between $1,138 and $1,151 so far today…as of 9:30 am Pacific, bullion is down $4 an ounce at $1,141…Silver is off 4 pennies at $15.54…Copper is down 1 cent at $2.32…Crude Oil is 30 cents higher at $46.36 while the U.S. Dollar Index has fallen one-third of a point to 96.78

U-K based Capital Economics remains quite bullish on both Silver and Gold“Overall, we expect the Silver price to end the year around $16.50 per ounce…production cuts across the industrial and precious metals industries, coupled with a pick-up in industrial production in the key Silver consumers, should see the Silver price rally to $20 per ounce by the end of 2016,” Capital Economics‘ commodities analyst Simona Gambarini stated in a research note…Gambarini added that the forecast is dependent on the firm’s positive view of Gold, which they expect to rally to $1,400 an ounce next year…a very different view than he one held by Goldman Sachs

A leading CEO says Gold producers must revolutionize their mining methods, become more tech-savvy and increase the use of automated machinery to survive in an environment of low prices and declining ore quality…that’s the conclusion of Nick Holland who heads up Gold Fields, one of the world’s largest mining companies based out of South Africa…

With Gold becoming more difficult to find and expensive to mine, companies must adapt by embracing three-dimensional modeling, better data analysis and more sophisticated machinery, Holland stated at a seminar in Johannesburg the other day.  “The journey toward not just mechanization but automation and digitization has begun and it’s only going to exponentially grow from here,” he said.  “As that bus is picking up speed we’d better get on it.”

In today’s Morning Musings

  1. Just a note NUGT/DUST …. these funds get re-priced each day… which introduces time decay… the longer you hold it the less you make but it seems the more you lose. As JOn noted… short term only!!!!!
Google ‘nugt etf decay’ for more info:)

  7. It would be good if DBV has a news release before the Monday open or this pop in the share price will be very short lived.

  8. DDD4, can u give some details on the rumors that are circulating?

    Comment by Sameer — October 30, 2015 @ 2:20 pm

  9. Before I post a rumour, let me get more info to confirm it. So far, I have heard 2 of them and one from a trustworthy source.

    Comment by DDD4 — October 30, 2015 @ 3:34 pm

  10. Les- no worries. If we don’t get news the SP will not move down and if it does consider it the last chance to buy at these low prices! The rumours I heard are both positive and should get us back to drilling very soon imo.

  13. Well,I’ve looked and looked and can’t see any case involving Doubleview in the BC courts.Maybe I have to look somewhere else for the info.I’ve also e-mailed Farshad and no response unless something comes in the next couple of days. But,everything has sure been hush-hush between the two parties for the last while. You’d have to think the two sides must be talking or something along those lines.
It has always been about the Tahltan getting something out of this anyway. Are they in negotiations now?

  17. DDD4, 7hoods – I have also done some Due Dil, verifying Les’ and Jon’s last minute deal opinions. The injunction is what I would have preferred but it sounds like (and I cannot say for sure), in my opinion, we now have Chad Day asking not to go that route. I hope Farshad is not being “hood winked” here and has thought this through thoroughly. DBV will have no recourse with no court action in place if a backroom deal goes sour. We have seen how Chad Day operates already. Will he be good on his word going forward? What is Chad Day’s reason for this and what’s the benefit to DBV? Time will tell before we know the whole story is my guess. Scary stuff….Happy Halloween.

  18. We’re working on it, ChetBaker. Hope to have an update in our Sunday Sizzler report tomorrow. We’ve maintained all along that the Land Use Agreement puts great strength behind both Doubleview and Garibaldi (and all players in the district) – the politics of what has gone on in recent months should be clear to everyone. Under the ground, there could literally be billions of tonnes at stake in the Sheslay district, all falling under the 2011 Land Use Agreement with the Taku. The fact is that the Tahltan elected not to be part of those discussions/negotiations that led to the historic 2011 deal (says so right in the document). Everything changed on the ground in 2013, but the Land Use Agreement made specific reference to how the entire district was highly prospective for mineral exploration, given what historical work had shown. These companies have multi-year permits and the backing of one of the most important Land Use Agreements in British Columbia history, since it is so recent and unique in that it was co-managed by First Nations (Taku Tlingits) and the government.

    Comment by Jon - BMR — October 31, 2015 @ 7:27 am

  19. Its actually a good thing….look at the positives. Do you want a settlement that forces CD to be legally restrained by law or one where they’re on “friendlier” terms with FNs? I know for the market and for possibly interested majors, friendlier terms is the better option…..there’s always the legal route latter down the road. I think CD has learned his lesson…..he has disgraced his people and acted on their behalf with consulting the TCC or his people. He will be up for election eventually and will need to gain support of his people……they voted very highly in favour for Red Chris to be put into operation so the Tahltan Nation are pro-mining and need the jobs associated with it.

I’m hearing that the court case has been postponed for a while….

    Comment by DDD4 — October 31, 2015 @ 7:42 am

  20. DDD4 – I agree, very true. Getting the drill turning is the ultimate goal here as we have lost so much time.
Jon – Looking forward to what you have been hearing from your sources.

    Comment by vepper — October 31, 2015 @ 8:15 am

  21. “Keep your friends close but your enemies closer” comes to mind if a back room deal was reached with CD and Farshad. Having said that, Mr. Day has shown his true colours in regards to his disrespect with following proper channels when he wants something….who’s to say it won’t happen again if/when DBV hits big? Could mean more delays/legal issues down the road. I’m sure Farshad is getting legal professionals to assist and hopefully close the door to these issues going forward.

    Comment by Steve A. — October 31, 2015 @ 8:19 am

  22. The Law of the Land, Steve, is the Land Use Agreement and the multi-year drill permits. My personal feeling is that Chad didn’t want to suffer the embarrassment of having a court injunction going against him – politically that would also be a problem on top of his mountain of problems already.

    Comment by Jon - BMR — October 31, 2015 @ 8:28 am

  23. GUY, YES!!! WRR insiders are buying just ahead of start of drilling press release that will come out this week!!!!

    Comment by Jeff — October 31, 2015 @ 8:32 am

  24. Re WRR… legally is there a blackout period once a company starts drilling??? they woould have insdie info otherwise.. JOn can you weigh in????

    Comment by Jeremy — October 31, 2015 @ 8:41 am

  25. DDD4 and vepper , true a friendlier deal with Chad Day will be far better than a forced settlement, I just hope Mr.Day does not pull any more stunts leaving DBV no recourse but to go back to court waisting more time and money. It appears Chad did not want to go to court for obvious reasons which means Farshad has him by the short hairs , I do hope Farshad can get everything he needs while he can. JMO

    Comment by Les — October 31, 2015 @ 8:50 am

  26. Les- if DBV is awarded substantial damages by the court for the stopping of drilling and lost time do you think he will want to do it again? Who likes giving money away for nothing in return? The Land Use Agreement and their drill permit protect DBV from having to give CD what he wants……a piece if the pie!

I’m not worried of future issues with CD as he has learned his lesson.

    Comment by DDD4 — October 31, 2015 @ 9:14 am

  27. Hi Jeremy, the answer is no. However, often what companies will do is impose their own “blackout period” on their people if they feel there is potential sensitive or material information that is emerging or will be imminently released. Common sense—-it’s always dangerous if insiders are trading stock ahead of drill results or good/bad material news that is forthcoming, even if they may actually not be aware of it (optics). In the specific case of WRR, I see no problem with that – a good sign if an insider is picking up stock at .035 at this point.

  47. DBV – let me float this idea. I have not heard this from anyone, this is not a rumour but purely speculation on my part as it is only my diabolical mind ay work. It is far fetched but not out of the question.
1)Assuming an 11th hour deal has been reached between Farshad and Chad Day (at Chad Day’s request)
2)Farhad is after damages (for numerous reasons) due to blockade from May 21
    3)Assume DBV plans a financing
Enter in benefit to DBV. Red Chris had a news release a couple of month ago where Thaltan Nation made an investment in Red Chris mine on Tahltan land. What’s do you think if DBV’s self imposes a penalty (and DBV does not go the injunction route) to Chad Day & Tahltan Nation and the penalty applied is an investment in DBV at “X” number of $’s and is the next financing and looks after the financing at the same time.
Feel free to poke some holes in this idea, and by the way, I have not been drinking. Enjoying what I have been reading as just creating discussion.

    Comment by vepper — October 31, 2015 @ 1:46 pm

  48. Vepper , the only thing I want to hear right now from DBV is that they resume drilling .. Trying to get money out of Chad Day would be like squeezing water from a stone and only delay exploration at the Hat. I would think Farshad and Chad have reached some kind of agreement whereby DBV can continue drilling and Farshad will hold his feet to the fire if he gets out of line again. DRILL

  50. SVMC will be stood up in 2016….pretty sure of it….question is…..who will join me in this prestigious club? First meet and greet will be somewhere near the Sheslay at a nice lodge so that we can tour the HAT property and possibly the Grizzly (assuming it has the goods also and makes BMR readers rich)…..when time comes I will run the idea through Farshad. Follow on meets will be in exotic locations…..first exotic location will be Bali.

I’ve been giving BMR readers a heads up on DBV for almost a few years now and have been accumulating since I originally discovered it….the odds of finding a major discovery early are extremely slim and only one of maybe a thousand juniors realize their dreams so when you think you have found one and are sure of it you take advantage of it because you may necessary get another opportunity like it in your life…..

Thanks to BMR for highlighting and covering the region…..the first ones and only ones but unfortunately it won’t be the only ones covering it in the new year!

    Comment by DDD4 — October 31, 2015 @ 4:28 pm

  52. Jmo,but if they are negotiating or have finished negotiating,I’m talking about Day and DBV,seeing how Farshad has carried himself throughout this project from the beginning,I will venture that he will have many of the same agreements in place that Red Chris has for the future that will make sure there are no more stoppages to the project.
I’m sure that the environment will be big and type of partnership outside of percentages in place with assurances of potential jobs if a mine would eventually come out of this. These are things that are easily agreed to and are necessary anyway in any mining project in Native controlled/disputed areas.
Farshad has shown to be a classy person to this point.I see only a very positive ending to this whole situation and we will not have any more problems from here on in.
The extreme quietness tells me they have been in talks for a while. Not a peep from anyone on this since the suing announcement.GGI and DBV should end up driving each other’s share prices up on back and forth news for the next while. We already know what DBV has and they have cores waiting to be,or have been sent to the lab and results pending. They wouldn’t have been required to PR this, imo, and if GGI has any positive news on the drilling and/or results coming soon we could see new highs coming to the stock prices of both companies.
Many junior mining companies try to get two projects going at the same time in order to have news coming year round that can keep the company and their shares in the news.DBV and GGI have the perfect scenario in place where they will help to propel each other’s shares every time positive news comes from the other, especially results.NOT.v,aswell as the other ROF companies, benefitted greatly from this which helped drive NOT.v shares up to $7.00.Between this year and next year,we could see that type of movement for both of these companies with one PR after another pushing each company to higher highs.

    Comment by robinandthe7hoods — October 31, 2015 @ 5:34 pm

  53. DDD4 you’ll have to double up on your DBV to hold what I hold. I’ve been following this next year story for over 2 years and it seems it’s one step forward and two steps back . I can remember being on a conference call where Farshad talked about putting 3 rigs to work , so far he can’t seem to keep one drill operating. I believe DBV has a massive ore body with grades as good or better than Red Chris , Farshad just has to prove it. Good luck to all , we are going too need it.

    Comment by Les — October 31, 2015 @ 5:41 pm

  54. Les- Yes, it has been frustrating over the last few years due to big plans not materializing like going to 3 rigs, winter drilling that never happened, etc but Farshad has a plan. Now that he and Dr Razique know what they are uncovering I think we will see a different Farshad….one that will stick to his plan and get the job done. Every piece of the puzzle that comes out (ie drill results) makes it easier and easier for him to finally realize the plans that never materialized like drill through winter and use more than one rig!

Holding 2 million shares? I don’t think I’II be able to buy another million shares and catch up to you as the price will move higher making it very costly to do! My mate owns 2.5 million shares. Looks like we all will be retiring in 2016…..glad to know that next year we will at least be 3 in the SVMC!

    Comment by DDD4 — October 31, 2015 @ 6:28 pm

  55. Seamus, Kingsley put that in a post on another chat site. Anything he says publically you can take to the bank.

    Comment by Treb — October 31, 2015 @ 7:19 pm

  56. DDD4 – Glad to hear your enthusiasm and confidence on your projections. I’m sure a lot of others plan on joining you in the SVMC but a lot of work still needs to be done. As Les mentions, and imo, there will no doubt be more one step forward and a couple more back. Hopefully the winter drilling will be all be steps forward, we need that right now. Farshad cannot afford any rookie mistakes. On assay results and hype alone you could both be in the club. I on the other hand, need to wait a little longer as my last entry point was .27 cents (thus the frustration) and hold just less that one quarter of what you have DDD4. Our age differences may be the risk levels one is willing to take as I am about 3 years from retirement. If the stock price bottoms then I may have more years of work ahead of me (after tax $’s) where you may have more earning years ahead of you to recover a loss. I agree that the Hat has the potential for a multi $ share value especially if we hit on the pending holes and we enter in Antofagasta. If that’s the case, retirement will be here quicker and a lot more comfortable. Hopefully Farshad has been keeping these boys in the loop with the recent developments and treating them with kid gloves and the next trip to the site by them will be soon.

  57. In looking at the GGI drill core, the deeper it went the darker it got. Notice at 68 meters the drill core is a lot darker than at 57 meters. Wonder how dark it is below 68 meters. I believe Regoci gave us a sneak peak at what could be a very rich copper/gold and even silver system at Grizzly Central. The beauty about what they may have uncovered is there could be more than one deposit in target areas 1, 2, & 3.

    Comment by Dan1 — November 1, 2015 @ 6:50 am

  58. Vepper- my enthusiasm might look premature to some but my DD is very thorough and unfortunately I haven’the mentioned some of the key pieces that make me so upbeat for 2016. We’re all in different situations and different stages in life but we all have one common goal…..retire early while in good health to enjoy life.

You have good exposure to DBV for it to be life changing so be patient and let Farshad and the Dr do their thing….they’re determined more than ever now to take this to the finish line now that the Dr’s model has been proven and they know a lot more on the geology and the potential size of the deposit.

Once drilling resumes a lot of eyes will be on DBV. We still have h23, h24 and half of h25 done so I anticipate that the results for these will be game changing and will reveal just why Chris Day chose to come block us for a piece of the pie. His timing was bang on when DBV confirmed the Dr’s model…..evaluate the potential and see why some majors have taken an early interest in the company’s drilling at the HAT! WE just need the drilling to resume and then we just sit back and wait….

    Comment by DDD4 — November 1, 2015 @ 8:08 am

  59. It seems to me that the results of Days holdup at DBV will probably work out in a deal to include Tahltans and thus in a perverse way he will have achieved a result which he set out to do. Also any deal which DBV makes would have to be sort of aa generalization as if results of drilling indicate a possible mine then DBV would be taken out by ? Just my rambling, next week should be interesting. Richard l
